Early Academic Struggles

I was born a Sagittarius on 1 December 1981.
According to Joanna Watters, a well known astrologist, she summarizes a Sagittarius as an individual with a "I seek" mentality and describes a Sagittarius as "the sign of the higher mind ... the pursuit of wisdom and search for meaning are just as important as new places and experiences".

It is interesting to note that the description of a Sagittarius is seemingly of someone who responds to a higher calling and of someone who has to whet his insatiable intellectual appetite with endless binges of information. This certainly did not seem the case when I was a child to my teenage years.

Being the second eldest child in a family of six children. Our age ranges from 15 for the youngest to 35 for the oldest. You can say that amongst my siblings there is already a generation gap. My parents are the typical traditional ones who emphasize on discipline and care for family members and those around us since young. As a result, I have grown to be a great sympathizer and considerate person and this quality has continued to remain an important value to me.
As a student, I will be considered by many as a late developer. In our methodical Singapore education system, opportunities for late bloomers are rare and at times critics have stated that our local curriculum is just too unforgiving and too focused on elitism.

In 2005, I achieved a Diploma in Mass Communications from Oklahoma State University and Diploma in Psychology from Oklahoma State University in 2010. To fought against the odds I pursued a course with the British Council to strengthen my command of the English language. Recently, completed my Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Edith Cowan University in Nov 2013. It seen like my resoluteness and tenacity in academic pursuits underscores the first part of Joanna Watter's description of a Sagittarius.
